Tết Celebration Brings Culture and Community Together at Point Avenue

A free pre-Tết celebration was held at the Point Avenue Center, bringing families and students together for a festive cultural experience before the holiday season.

The event featured interactive booths representing different countries, each offering a hands-on activity linked to traditional celebrations. At the Korean booth, participants created origami, while the Vietnamese booth guided students in making bánh chưng. The English booth served hot dogs with fried onions, ketchup, and mustard, and the activity booth hosted fun games designed to bring luck for the upcoming year.

The celebration concluded with an exciting lucky draw, where participants received prizes including 50% course vouchers. The event created a joyful atmosphere of cultural exchange, community connection, and shared celebration.

HIKING CLUB #3

Hiking Club #3 welcomed a new group of participants and it was great to see Quỳnh Mai, who had previously joined an event at the Point Avenue Center, return for another adventure.

Despite not having ideal footwear, Quỳnh Mai and her mother showed incredible determination, motivating each other every step of the way to reach the summit. Even when their shoes broke along the trail, they remained positive and continued the hike. With some creative problem-solving from Mr. Jacob, who tied the sole back onto the shoe, the journey continued without issue.

Before long, the group was back at basecamp enjoying BBQ chicken, sharing stories, and laughing as they counted how many times they had slipped along the way. The experience captured the spirit of resilience, teamwork, and positive attitude that defines every hiking club adventure.
A three-week international day camp was successfully held at True North International School, welcoming Korean students for an enriching English immersion and cultural learning experience. Running Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm, the programme combined academic study, creativity, and teamwork in a dynamic international environment.

Each morning, students focused on developing their reading and writing skills. In the early afternoon, campers joined specialised classes such as Heritage Explorer or cooking, before participating in TNIS art, STEM, or PE lessons alongside the wider student community. The day concluded with engaging activities including an epic drama project or fun team challenges, with the final performance featuring a reenactment of Cinderella.

Students enjoyed the school’s facilities and formed new international friendships during break times, meals, and shared classes. They developed new skills, experienced both Vietnamese and international cuisine, and gained valuable exposure to a global learning environment.

The programme concluded with a warm and emotional closing ceremony, where students and staff reflected on the highlights of the three-week journey and celebrated their growth and shared experiences.

Winter Leaders’ Camp in Cát Bà — Adventure and Unforgettable Moments

The Winter Leaders’ Camp in Cát Bà was an unforgettable experience filled with leadership, teamwork, and adventure. With gorgeous weather throughout the programme, campers enjoyed a perfect setting for learning, challenge, and outdoor exploration.

The camp began with swimming on arrival, where campers enjoyed water slides and time in the pool before settling into the programme. Throughout the camp, Junior Supporters played an important role — leading room inspections, promoting healthy eating habits, and organising the talent show. Their leadership and responsibility set a strong example for younger campers.

Outstanding leadership was also demonstrated by Squad Leader Trung Lam, who showed exceptional maturity and responsibility throughout the programme. Strong teamwork was evident in the project-based learning class, where campers collaborated to design a playground, sharing ideas and supporting one another through the process.

Tammy joined the camp and completed a 10km run alongside campers, inspiring students through her commitment and determination. Campers also enjoyed beach activities, time playing in the ocean, and delicious fresh seafood throughout their stay.

The festive spirit was strong with Christmas celebrations, where everyone brought a gift to exchange, creating a joyful sense of community. In the evenings, campers loved sitting together under the stars, sharing stories and building friendships.

The camp was also shaped by memorable personalities, including Soon and Aditya — true camp characters we hope to see again.

A highlight of the programme was an epic island hike led by Danny, covering 9km with 600 metres of elevation across Cát Bà National Park. Jeremy showed outstanding attitude by helping younger campers, and many participants paired up to support each other through the challenging expedition. The special day ended with a boat ride through the archipelago back to town, where Tammy treated everyone to coconut ice cream.

The Winter Leaders’ Camp captured the spirit of leadership, resilience, and community that defines the Point Avenue camp experience — a journey of challenge, growth, and lifelong memories.

Students Selected as Junior Supporters for Winter Leaders’ Camp

Hung Phan, Roy, and My An have been successfully selected as Junior Supporters for the upcoming Winter Leaders’ Camp in Cát Bà due to their excellent effort and leadership shown whilst being campers.

This marks their first opportunity to gain real work experience and apply the leadership, teamwork, and character skills developed through their previous camp experiences. As Junior Supporters, they will lead by example, help camp operations, and support the next generation of campers.

Their role is to inspire younger students to grow, take initiative, and become the best version of themselves — reflecting the leadership and personal development values at the heart of the camp experience.

Hiking Club #2

Hiking Club #2 took on Hàm Lợn Mountain with energy and determination — and even the rain could not stop the team. Despite the challenging weather, everyone successfully reached the summit, showing resilience, enthusiasm, and strong team spirit.

The adventure was filled with positive energy, including dancing in the rain and encouraging one another along the trail. Joining the hike was The Anh, Mr. Jacob’s trail running partner, who recently completed an impressive 100km run, inspiring students with his endurance, mindset and technical knowledge.

After a full day of challenge and achievement, many campers fell asleep on the bus ride home — tired, proud, and already looking forward to the next adventure.

Camp Spirit Shines at Pickleball Reunion

A free camp reunion was held at the Ballburn Pickleball courts in Tây Hồ, bringing campers and mentors together for a fun and energetic morning. It was a great way to start the day staying active, reconnecting, and strengthening our camp community.

The highlight was an exciting final match between Mr Danny and Dave versus Mr Jacob and Nghia Luu, though the game could not be finished before the court booking time expired. Winning was never the focus — what mattered most was coming together, enjoying the experience, and sharing the spirit of teamwork and friendship.

The event reflected the strong camp values of health, connection, and active living at Point Avenue.

Building Grit and Resilience — Our Team on the Trails of Sóc Sơn

The Point Avenue team recently took part in a staff hike in Sóc Sơn, led by Camp Director Mr. Jacob and Danny, Founder of Camps and a graduate of United States Military Academy.

All staff joined the experience — including English center teachers, office staff, camp team members, the CEO, and the founder — strengthening teamwork and shared purpose outside the classroom. The group hiked up Hàm Lợn Mountain, enjoying a beautiful day of challenge, collaboration, and outdoor learning.

The hike reflects the leadership mindset, resilience, and community spirit that shape our experiential learning approach, and the same values we develop through our Vietnam kids camp programmes.

At the Vietnam–Korea Friendship Festival 2025, Point Avenue hosted an exciting fitness challenge where participants tested their strength and endurance while competing to beat records set throughout the weekend.

The event welcomed people of all ages and backgrounds — children, parents, and even grandparents — creating an inspiring atmosphere of participation and personal challenge. It was incredible to see so many individuals eager to try new activities, measure their fitness levels, and push themselves to improve.

Alongside the fitness test, visitors enjoyed a range of fun camp-style activities, with prizes awarded for participation. At the festival’s main event raffle, Point Avenue also awarded a voucher worth 40,000,000 VND for camp programmes, bringing even more excitement to the celebration.

Free Camp Event at Point Avenue Center

On 25 October, Point Avenue hosted a free camp experience event at its center, giving students and parents the opportunity to experience camp life through fun team building, English immersion, and camp-style activities.

Participants took part in leadership games, teamwork challenges, and every camper’s favourite — relay races. The event was filled with energy, laughter, and new connections, giving families a firsthand look at our experiential learning approach and Vietnam kids camp experience.

It was a great opportunity to welcome new families and share the excitement of camp, and we look forward to seeing many new faces at future programmes.

Severe storms across Vietnam are creating unsafe conditions in several regions. Due to extreme weather and safety concerns, Point Avenue has made the decision to cancel the upcoming camp in Sapa.

The safety and wellbeing of our students, families, and staff remain our highest priority. While this may cause disappointment, the decision reflects our commitment to responsible leadership, risk awareness, and student care — core values of our programmes.

At camp, students learn resilience, adaptability, and sound decision-making in challenging situations. This moment reinforces the importance of preparation, safety, and community responsibility, which are central to our experiential learning and outdoor education approach.

Safety First: Camp Cancelled Due to Severe Storms in Vietnam

Mr. Jacob — a much loved and well-known mentor at Point Avenue — recently completed the 50km Vietnam Jungle Marathon, placing 18th out of 300 runners.

His perseverance, dedication, and endurance reflect the mindset we develop at camp through leadership training, health and fitness, and character development. This achievement demonstrates the power of discipline, resilience, and mental strength — values that guide our experiential learning approach and Vietnam kids camp programmes.

This is a huge achievement and a powerful example for all students. Congratulations, Mr. Jacob!

50km "I WILL NEVER QUIT"

By Erin Gelaga (age 13)

In September, Point Avenue joined the UNIS Hanoi Welcome Community Connections Fair. The PA booth brought together families and students for fun activities and meaningful conversations about experiential learning, English immersion, leadership development, and our Vietnam kids camp programmes.

From Tower Building and a Fitness Challenge to Map Reading and Guess the Number in the Jar, the activities created plenty of smiles, laughter, and friendly competition. The event was also a valuable opportunity to connect with parents, share more about our programmes, and celebrate the start of a new school year.

We were especially pleased to reconnect with former campers and mentors, including Casper, Ms Trang, and Linh Le — a great blast from the past.
